In marked contrast, Bundeena and Maianbar also overlook one of the best cities on the planet — in less than an hour you can be in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. WE GOT THIS
Bundeena and Maianbar are neighbouring villages within Royal National Park that date all the way back to the mid 1800s. This magical spot has attracted an eclectic bunch of people. We have one of the highest proportion of artists and musicians per capita. A monthly art trail opens doors to over 15 studios. In addition, there are more than 50 clubs/groups/activities. All this is neatly packaged within a small population of around 2700 residents. The Art of Living committee are a team of volunteers from within the community, working together to ensure a broad presentation of art, music, sustainability expo and music as part of a weekend-long local festival. The art of living is all-encompassing and we’d like to celebrate our magic formula with you.

GETTING HERE
FIND YOUR WAY
The Art of Living Festival is held in Bundeena at our brutally beautiful Community Centre and the adjacent parkland on the corner of Liverpool Street and Bundeena Drive. Bundeena is located within Royal National Park, south of Sydney.
By ferry
For an nostalgic trip on a vintage ferry take the scenic 30 minute ride across Port Hacking. Ferries depart on the hour from the public wharf at Gunnamatta Bay which is a easy walk from Cronulla station. To get to Cronulla, you can catch the train on the Illawarra Line, changing for Cronulla at Sutherland station. On the weekend, ferries run from Cronulla just after the half-hour, from 7:30am until 5:30pm. Ferries back from Bundeena on the weekend run on the hour from 8am to 6pm.

By road
If you’re a landlubber then take a scenic spin to the festival via the Royal National Park. There are 3 routes to choose from: 1) Enter at Loftus via Farnell Avenue. Drive down through Audley and continue on the main road until you reach the turn-off to Bundeena (Bundeena Drive). 2) Enter the Royal National Park from Princess Highway at Waterfall. At the end of Waterfall Road take a left at the t-intersection onto Lady Wakehurst Drive and continue on until you reach Bundeena Drive. 3) By far the most scenic option. Enter from the southernmost side of the Royal National Park via Otford. Follow Lady Wakehurst Drive to Bundeena Drive. Parking can be limited within Bundeena but if available, will be in the nearby streets unless otherwise directed. Public transport is also available from Park Connections or by ferry.

By foot
If you’re an experienced hiker you can also hoof it to the festival via a number of trails including the Coast Track but you MUST check in with the Royal National Park Office before you go as many of the trails are difficult and weather dependant. Of course, there are also plenty of leisurely walks to choose from once you get here.

COVID SAFETY

Due to Covid restrictions, we were not able to have our festival in 2020 and 2021. These restrictions are subject to change and we endeavour to follow the rules set out by NSW Department of Health as is our legal obligation. Whatever the rules of the day, these will need to be complied with. However, we’re all getting good at this, and hopeful that restrictions will only be further eased so we can all enjoy a wonderful time celebrating the community.

ACCESSIBILITY
Wheelchair access to the Community Centre is available. The market stall and live music area is under trees with level ground, although the grass can be a little difficult in a wheelchair. There are concrete paths in some areas with a gentle or level grade. The pre-school building which is the venue for Sustainability Expo talks has ramp access. There are pool gates across the access which may require assistance in opening for someone in a wheelchair.
